Our bodies love us unconditionally and they are there for us in so many ways. Breathing, pumping, sensing, moving, experiencing …
Like any relationship, love and appreciation must be given both ways to be a healthy harmonious one.
For example, have you ever had a boss, parent or partner put you down or point out only negative things? Rarely giving you praise or appreciation for what you do or who you are? Does this kind of behaviour make you want to work harder or accept them more? OR does it bring your energy down and make you want to rebel? The chances of you wanting to be a better employee, son/daughter or lover are probably unlikely if this is the case.
The same idea applies to our relationship with our body.
In order to have the healthy body you want, you must send it loving thoughts and appreciation for everything it is, and does for you. It may sound crazy, but what do you have to lose? I encourage you to send your body love everyday, even the parts you are really unhappy with.
Love and accept yourself exactly as you are now, and I promise you’ll be amazed at the transformation. :)
